Congratulations to our incredible Sixth Form students on their achievements this year.

Studying A Levels is always a challenging undertaking, but the class of 2022 find themselves in a unique position. After navigating a pandemic during the course of their studies, these A Level results mark the first set of formal, external examination results for this group of students. As we reflect upon their time with us, we are filled with immense pride. The strength, resilience and fortitude demonstrated by these young people is something to behold. It is qualities such as these which will take them far and we have no doubt that our students are moving on to bright futures.

We are delighted that, as in previous years, many of our students have chosen to pursue degrees and careers that allow them to use their talents in the field of medicine and healthcare. Jamie, who joined us from St Hild's school, is embarking upon his dream of studying Dentistry and he will do so at Liverpool University after achieving three A grades. Leon is hoping to pursue his ambition of studying Medicine following his outstanding achievement of A*AAA grades in Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Further Mathematics respectively. We have some fantastic success stories in terms of students moving on to follow nursing as a career pathway. After achieving a Distinction*, Distinction and A*, a Double Distinction and A grade and a Distinction, Merit and B grade respectively, Jorja, Meg and Jess will take up their places at their first-choice university, Teesside, to study Adult Nursing. Lilly will join them there following her excellent achievements to pursue a degree in Occupational Therapy.

Creative, musical and theatrical talent is nurtured at EMS6. Molly has impressed her teachers in terms of her academic and creative skills. She follows her passion for art to study Fine Art at York St John University after achieving A* grades in Photography and Art and Design, and a B in English Language. Similarly, Taylor has been an absolute asset to the Art Department throughout her seven years here with us. After securing grades in Photography (A*), Art and Design (B) and Graphics (B), she moves on to her first- choice course at The Northern School of Art.

We are equally proud of our exceptionally talented students who pursue apprenticeships, employment or other avenues after completing their studies with us. Following her success in her A Levels of Double Health and Social Care and Photography, Mia has secured a fantastic opportunity as an apprentice Teaching Assistant at Springwell School. Sophie, who joined us after completing her GCSEs at Manor School, and Emily who achieved a Distinction* in Performing Arts and has been with us for seven years, are both exceptional performers who are highly regarded on the theatre and dance circuit. Both have chosen to enjoy a gap year before pursuing their love of the stage in their pursuit of success on stage. We wish them luck with this journey and are excited to chart their progress in the future.
